The good old Woosy West

Are we into real reconciliation or real peace based on respect for our differences ?. Do we not talk biodiversity but seek a false kind of unity at the expense of respect for genuine diversity?

- Cell walls,  though the origin of life,  are now,  for the new idealist , just fences we need to remove in order for "the wonder of love and peace to happen" . I think not , as do our children, who know the Hunger Games are closer to reality   --the really nice games we play or try to play when we ignore what sort of say DNA has --- our mind games are shallow and pathetic .

Are we 2 , too preoccupied with peace at any price? Jesus thought so ( He came to bring a sword) , Martin L King  thought so ,Bonhoeffer thought so , Churchill thought so

Chamberlain and Shaw ( who let the last war happen) didn't think . Like so many in our age C&S just felt and left it there ( a sort faith you have when you claim you haven't got one?) --This hide in the dark and hope idea is fine when yiur fed for your fine talk  but it never enough for people on the cutting edge --with minds sharpened by experience, by minds they and we should all use. Its the Genius of the West to see and feel the real threats of both words and power - To know when war starts means you can stop it . When people START the fight by breaking the 9th Commandment and call the other " condemned " . Arguments they/we  should have ----- even with God !
We are , after all , the greatest army of armchair emperors , but maybe , the only thing we know for sure is we are dead if the net goes down, or if our wife tells us to get offline and get into washing up .
In more modern times,  Dalrymple knows so (Too preoccupied with peace at any price) and so do sensible Muslims and anyone observing what a lack of moral framework does to our weak family and cultural experiments  .We in the West are a wishy washy joke!
If you want to call yourself a realist - take seriously what others say about you and your family - otherwise we would all question whether you are in denial ,Our cultural leaders may in now desperate days blame "the poison of religion" , but its the failure of their own religion and its dominance over a mere 100 years, that's got us to be the silly immobile and unmoved ( moving on - just a hope ?) sentimentalists so well described by Dalrymple .
Where is the West's  fighting spirit ? Lost in a lot of niceties ?

Even Shaw , Orwell , Huxley and Weber would be agast at what we now expect of government - to mind us as  though we were children

Where is our strength to fight ?. Is it as Peter Watson would have it - in Germany ( The German Genius) or even earlier .The dumb thing is that Peter  and his failing ilk thinks its technology ( matter not mind )

For us then ? Are words important or are we following the dreadfully dumb myth that says we are locked into our DNA - if you are not Aryrian ....their is.no hope for you ? According to peter ?  .
I'm certainty not locked in as an ecologist and practical person.  I hope  whenever  adrenalin comes,  I talk to it and reason with it just as we must do to restore our sanity in the West.
Biodiversity exists not because of a sense of unity , but because of a deep respect for each group and there ideas/ fixed positions  
If we are going to avoid a deadly fight , we fight fair, we talk  we talk openly about differences and learn to respect them. Too much armchair has always been dangerous so its not just Internet there to frighten us.

If we are going to show respect for people we need to confront them and ourselves about our preference for our own world view and if necessarily find a better one - esp if there is denial and deep unresolved confusion there .

Don't just talk about moving on - just do it

If you have the patience to listen to post moderns discussing something that " worries "them ( that word in itself is a worry) you get the impression they would never,  like the reporters in "Scoop ' ( E Waugh ) gather enough fire to blast them out of their seats of discomfort.
The lefty on "The drum ABC"  was as normal,  doing it tonight over the question "
 Is internet overuse bad for our kids . " Julia is stuck like most because she believes and trusts in adaption --the good god that means everything will be OK  in the end. (something they drag half baked into their closet)
The lefty is no help either because he is waiting for research to tell him which way to go , ignoring that the research doesn't tell him which way to go - if your lucky it will tell you there is a problem " eg More kids kill themselves if they watch more than 5 hours of internet per day '
ABC thinks it solves problems ---- sorry but that's what we profs do !
What scientists really say is that this discussion is "'too greek'  and childish and too little too late . You need a better framework for determining whats right or wrong . A way of thinking that prevents you getting into problems .

Australia needs an education revolution - its just not looking in right direction
If only these atheists would take Peter Watson ( the German genius) seriously and recognize there is something wrong with how we think .
